Ben Hancock appointed Chief Operating Officer for Canopy Tools

Australian-based global IT company Canopy Tools has announced the appointment of experienced international Finance and IT executive, Ben Hancock, to the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Offering extensive commercial experience in family owned, private equity and publicly listed companies, Ben will be responsible for implementing Canopy Tools’ business plans, strategies and procedures as it moves towards a potential float in 2022.

Prior to joining Canopy Tools, Ben was the APAC Finance and IT director for Canopy Growth Australia – a pharmaceuticals and consumer goods company listed on both the Toronto and New York stock exchanges. Ben also held an interim Operations role while working at Canopy to establish APAC operationsand facilities.

He also worked as the global CIO at Britax Group Limited – a private equity held consumer goods company – where he was based in CharlotteNC, USA, from 2013 to 2019, as Finance and IT Director at Britax’s subsidiary company in Melbourne from 2007 to 2013 and as CIO for ASX listed specialty metals processor and distributor Atlas Group Limited, in Melbourne from 2002 to 2007.

CEO of Canopy Tools, Craig Adams, said the company would benefit strongly from Ben’s leadership and expertise.

“Ben has joined us at an exciting time as we progress our growth objectives, having recently completing a $21 million pre-IPO fundraising round in advance of a planned float in 2022’’ he said.
